Eco-Friendly Stain Removal: Deodorant

Got white marks from your deodorant? Did your toddler smash the deodorant into the carpet or furniture? It's usually not too hard to remove and can be done naturally. As one who's committed to doing everything as eco-friendly as possible, I've found many solutions for natural and effective stain removal. Getting out deodorant stains will actually depend on the type of deodorant you use.

Removing Stains From Natural Crystal Deodorant

Natural crystal deodorant seldom stains, but if it does, this is the easiest deodorant to remove. Most of the time, all it takes is a simple rinse with cold water. With clothing, run the stained area under the cold water for several minutes. If this doesn't come out after that, you can create a vinegar rinse. Plug the sink and mix vinegar and cold water half and half. Swish the stained clothing around in the natural rinse solution. Rinse with cold water. This should be enough for removing clothing stains from natural crystal deodorant. To remove this type of deodorant from carpets and furniture, lightly dab the affected area with a cold, wet cloth until the stain comes out.

Eco-Friendly Stain Removal for White Stick Deodorant

Who wants white deodorant showing through on their clothing? Not good. White stick deodorant is made up of many chemical compounds not in natural crystal deodorant. Therefore, it will slightly tougher to remove, but still possible. Create the vinegar rinse mentioned above, but add in some eco-friendly liquid laundry detergent. Like the solution above, swish the clothing around. For tougher stains, you may actually need to take a small dab of the detergent and rub it directly into the stain and then repeat the rinsing process.
