How to Toilet Train Your Cat... cat urine removal .

Leave the box alone except for cleaning for a few days.

Make sure your cat is using the litterbox and is comfortable with it before moving it. Every two days, move the litterbox closer and closer to the bathroom. Every time you move the litterbox, put something under it that raises the box an inch or so. I used books and old phone books. Make sure the box is stable for when kitty jumps on and off the box. If your cat starts to use the bathroom elsewhere then you are moving the box too fast for your kitty's liking. Try leaving the box there for an extra day to see if the kitty will start using it again. If your cat still refuses to use the box after leaving it still for a day or so, then back the box up to the place he was last using it successfully. Keep it there for another day or so before attempting to move it again. Repeat this process anytime your cat has an accident and doesn't use the box. Continue to move the box until you reach next to the toilet. At this stage your litter box should still have the toilet seat attached to the litter box, be next to the toilet, and should be raised almost as high or even with your toilet.... cat urine removal .

Now, get out your largest plastic bowl that you bought in the 3 pack from the store and poke a whole bunch of small holes in the lid being careful not to crack the lid. I used a small drill bit which works great and is fast. Now put a fair amount of litter in the bottom of the plastic bowl and attach the lid with the holes poked in it. Now set this inside your toilet and put the lid down. Sprinkle litter across the top of the lid so your cat knows to use it here now and remove the old litterbox with the toilet seat attached. When your cat uses the toilet, you will need to clean it up right away so he will want to come back and use it again and not use your floor. The urine will pass through into the plastic bowl and you can just scoop it out from there. Leave it like this for a few days and make sure your cat is using the toilet consistently like this before progressing. If you need to use the toilet, you can just lift the plastic bowl out of the toilet and use it and put it back when you are done.... cat urine removal .

You will be following this next process over and over every 2-3 days as long as your cat continues to use the toilet and doesn't have any accidents. Cut a small hole about an inch or so in the middle of the plastic lid on the bowl. Continue to put litter on top of the plastic lid. Continue to make the hole bigger (slightly) every few days, stopping if your cat has an accident and continuing again when he has stopped having accidents. You can use duct tape on the lid if you need to make the hole smaller again. Meanwhile you will want to cut back on the amount of litter in the bottom of the plastic bowl. This can be a bit odoriferous so be sure to keep it clean regularly so your cat will still want to use it. You will want to purchase flushable litter at this point. Not much as you won't need it much longer.... cat urine removal .
