This can also be done with multiple cat households as well, however, you can only progress as fast as your slowest learning cat will allow. It also takes much longer with multiple household cats, but if you can tough it out, it's definitely worth it. It usually takes one cat about 20-40 days to be toilet trained, but this can vary depending on the age and size of your cat. So be patient, don't push your cat too fast, and he will do his thing when he is ready. When you are done toilet training him, you both will be very thankful you don't have to put up with a smelly litterbox anymore.
