How to Control Pet Odors in Your House... pet deodorizer .

Wood shavings and paper pellets can get pretty expensive when an owner has to change out bedding two or three times a week. To help lower costs, shredded newspaper or white paper bedding can be used as an alternative.... pet odor control .

Paper is naturally absorbent and does an excellent job of controlling pet odor.

Frequent litter box changing.

For animals that use a litter box, daily cleaning is a must. For rabbits, litter shavings must be replaced every day. If you own a cat, scoop out the mess on a daily schedule.

Confine odor causing activities to one room

Nothing is more smelly than the odor of an animal defecating or the smell of pet food. To keep these odors from smelling up your house, keep your cat or dog food, pet food dishes, and litter boxes in an area that can be closed off from the main part of the house.... pet odor control .

Our pets get fed on the back porch mud room which confines the odors to an area that can easily be aired out. Enclosed porches, laundry rooms, or a little used bathroom are great places to feed pets and keep a litter box.

Frequent water changes

Even water can pick up an odor after a few days. Get in the habit of changing out the water in your pet's water dish or water bottle daily. Aquariums will also start to smell if not maintained on a regular basis. For families with aquariums and fish bowls, routine cleanings and proper filter maintenance will keep down the smells coming from a fish tank.

Set limits

My animals don't get the run of the whole house, and bedroom doors are usually kept shut to prevent the animals from sleeping on the bedspreads. I also close the basement door ever since discovering the cat using the crawl space as a litter box. Keeping the animals confined to just one part of the house makes it easier to isolate those accidents when they do happen.... pet odor control .

Just because you have a pet doesn't mean your house has to smell like a barnyard. By following these easy tips, you'll be able to keep your home smelling fresh and odor free.... pet odor control .
