Fast and Common Product Carpet Stain Removal

There are all kinds of carpet available on today's market and there are also just as many kinds of stains to embed themselves into your carpet. You can't afford to rent a carpet cleaner every week, your budget won't let you afford owning one at the moment and it cost way to much to replace the carpet. When you can't afford the most current fad in carpet cleaning or a great replacement you can find ways to remove many stains with common product you have in your home. They are multi-purpose and will save money from your already too small paycheck in this day of inflation.

Ammonia. If the stain on your light carpet is bothering you try a mix of ½ cup clear, unscented ammonia mixed with 4 cups warm water. Just sponge on the stain lightly and let dry. Once dry if the stain is still visible repeat the process.

Baby wipes. The spill just happened and before it has time to become a stain grab a couple of baby wipes. It quickly cleans up any stain producing spills and leaves the carpet baby fresh. They are also a great way to clean upholstery and simple stains on clothing.

Baking soda. The very best in the all purpose household product. For grease or wine stains blot up as much as you can with a paper towel, then sprinkle a fair amount of baking soda on the spot. Let stand for at least one hour to absorb as much of the stain as possible and vacuum.

Beer. What a waste of good beer, but if that's all that's available just pour a small amount onto the stain and rub lightly into the carpet. Your stain will find a better way to enjoy the beer than soaking into your carpet. This works with other fabric too, but be sure to wash before wearing any clothing cleaned with this method. You can still get pulled over for smelling like you just emptied the keg.

Borax. Wet the stained area well and rub in borax. Let dry completely and vacuum or blot it with a solution of equal parts vinegar and soapy water. Let dry and vacuum.

Cornstarch and milk. Mix a little milk and cornstarch into a paste. Rub it onto an ink stain on your carpet and let dry overnight. Then brush the mixture to loosen and vacuum. It will remove all or most of an ink stain left from a broken ink pen.
