Cleaning Tips for Removing Stains on Area Rugs

Club Soda - Club soda will remove many stains from area rugs without causing damage. Apply a small amount of club soda to the stain and blot with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Repeat once and continue to blot with clean towels until the stain is gone.

Whipped Dishwashing Detergent - Mix equal parts of water and mild dishwashing liquid together with a whip until frothy. Gently rub a small amount of the solution directly onto the stain with a dry, soft sponge. Rinse sponge in cold water, squeeze most of the water out of the sponge and lightly rub over the area to remove the stain.
