The Eureka Tetragon 8 Tent

The best way to test a tent is to put it through a rainstorm. You don't want a tent that leaks all over you and your stuff all night. That's what pushed me to get a new one. We were camping and my old 8 x 8 tent was supposedly "water proof" but it didn't pass the test. So I ended up with the Eureka Tetragon 8.

It's a little dome tent that is perfect for my needs. And it was just $100. Worth it, I think more then my "waterproof" $49 ones. It's been through the rain test our last camping trip. It rained for hours and I didn't feel a drop in that tent. No leaks. So far so good. The fly on top reaches to the ground on each side except in the front, where it stops at the pole. So downpour coming straight down is fine, but hopefully it will live through a windy rainstorm when it comes into the sides. I hope that they're coated each side with waterproof coating.

The design of the tent is nice. It's pretty roomy for a two man tent. At the top of it, there's a triangle that unzips to a mesh part. This is kind of like a chimney to release the hot air in the tent. Even when the fly is on top of the tent, the air still goes into the triangle, and out the fly that is held up off the back part of the tent. So, it's very well ventilated.

Inside, there's a nice mesh panel that has a lot of pockets to store your camping gear. Or, you can clip it so that it's out of the way, like a tiny attic above you. Closer to the bottom, are two pockets that are great for storing small things like keys, wallet, chaptstick, etc.
