Carpet Steam Cleaners - Why Use Them?

If you have carpeting in your home then you know all to well how challenging it can be to keep it clean. Vacuuming is fine on a regular basis, but there comes a time when you may need a carpet steam cleaner.

On a day-to-day basis, your carpets will see a lot of dirt, grime, grease, food, liquids and more on them. Carpet will also hold allergens, which can lead to your family having issues with allergies. This is why it is important to use a carpet cleaner or steam cleaner at least twice a year.

Carpet steam cleaners all work pretty much the same. Home carpet cleaning machines do not inject steam into the carpet, but rather use heated water to get up dirt, stains, etc. It is only the commercial carpet steam cleaners that actually use steam.

Today's home cleaning machines utilize several scrubbing brushes which spin and clean with a mix of hot water and carpet shampoo to thoroughly clean your carpets.

In most cases, a good name brand steam carpet cleaner will not leave your carpet soaking wet afterward. With their powerful 12-amp motors, most cleaners will pick up the water and soap, leaving only a damp carpet behind. Within an hour your room should be dry.

As a final step you may want to go over the carpet with your vacuum to get up any excess fibers.

Using a vacuum is great for every day or weekly use, but in order to deep clean you will need to have a carpet steam cleaner of your own, or rent one if not.
