North Carolina-based carpet recycler opens Salt Lake City plant


A North Carolina-based carpet recycling firm is entering the Utah market.

Charlotte-based Blue Ridge Recycling, a 12-year-old company, is in the process of setting up shop in approximately 40,000 square feet at 879 S. 4400 W., Salt Lake City, where between seven and 10 are expected to be employed.

Monty Thompson, co-owner, said the Utah facility, which will do business under the name Green Ridge Recycling, will join the firm's 76,000 square foot facility in the South, which recycles a little more than one million pounds of carpet each month.

"We're the only tenant in a 176,000 square foot warehouse, so hopefully I can expand," he said of the Salt Lake City …
