6 Important Carpet Cleaning Tips

Tip #1 - At the very least, once a week you should use your vacuum to clean the carpet using a good vacuum cleaner. Vacuuming more than this is even better.

The single most important cleaning tip is a regular good vacuuming of the carpet. Once a week is great period of time to vacuum the carpet. Try to pick a certain day each week to do this. This will keep the carpets from getting heavily soiled. 80% - 90% of the soils in the carpet can be removed this way.

Tip #2 - For the best cleaning results vacuum slowly and throughly.

I know that you are sometimes very busy, and you may want to rush or skip through doing this, but make sure you do it slowly and vacuum thoroughly. If you do it too quickly the vacuum cleaner will not have a chance to remove the proper amount of the soils that it was designed to do, in-turn not getting the carpets very clean.

Tip #3 - Spend Extra Time on High Traffic Areas.

Make sure to spend more time on the high traffic areas. Included areas are around and in between doorways, hallways, and places that one may put their feet a lot of the time. If short of time, this can give your home that freshly vacuumed appearance without taking too much time and energy.

Tip #4 - At your front outside entrance to the door, you can place some outdoor carpeting such as a welcome mat or rug. These mats or rugs can be easily cleaned and rinsed by using a water hose.

Entry rugs inside the home, should be cleaned on a regularly basis too. By the use of these methods, the time between carpet cleanings inside the home will be greatly extended.

Tip #5 - Using Baking Soda to Remove Smells.

One other super carpet cleaning tip is to use baking soda to help rid and banish smells. You may put a small amount in the vacuum bag, waste container, and also lightly spread some on the carpets too. It helps to remove the smells from the carpet and will also help to keep the vacuum from smelling bad also.

Tip #6 - Have a Professional Steam Clean the Carpets
