Eureka is a good brand. Middle of the road, reliable and dependable--- or so we had been informed through both word of mouth and internet research. Not the best, but certainly no where near the worst. This vacuum was on sale therefore we bought it.
In the month since we purchased the cyclonic, we have declogged it four times. By this I mean we have taken it apart to pull out trapped hair which created the clog in the first place. When this vacuum is clogged up, although it still vacuums, it has no "cyclonic means" of releasing the hair and other particles into the particle receptacle (the suction cup that has replaced bags in the bagless variety of vacuums). This means all that is sucked up is released back out from due to there being no room in the vacuum for it to go.
Now where I chose to look at this differently than my roommate is that --- it is not just becoming clogged for the sake of becoming clogged. It is working that well. Vacuuming up all the cat and dog hair trapped in the carpet.
This vacuum can suck. Yes, four times we have had to take it apart to release the trapped hair clogs, but think of all the hair not residing in our carpet and rugs.
This static duster does not work as well as I had hoped. It leaves behind too much dust that still needs the assistance of a dust rag to disappear from our home.
The attachments work well. I prefer the attachments overall as it can clean the little crevices in sliding glass doors and closets. The little brush it the right size and it angles vertically not sideways producing greater friction.
