How to Get Red Wine Out of Carpet

You know how it goes. You have friends over for a lovely adult evening and with one little slip the night is ruined. You just got red wine on the carpet. We're talking a permanent stain. So, what can you do to get it out? We looked at some of the ways that people have told us for it has happened to one in ten people. It's that common.

Now, some say you can get red wine out with white wine. This would make for one heck of a party wouldn't it? Have two kinds of wine served. After the red wine spills, you just take the white wine and pour it over the stain. Use about half the bottle and just pour it over the red wine spill. Then all you have to do is use a towel and keep mopping it up. The only downfall to this is that you have to do it a couple of times. Just remember to not let the red wine dry.

There is yet another way if you do not have any white wine on hand. You first start out by getting up as much of it as you possibly can with a towel. Use a blotting method. Then what you do is you make up a mixture. The mixture contains: one teaspoon carpet shampoo or dish soap, and one cup of peroxide. You put this into a bowl and using a sponge, you squeeze it onto the stain and begin blotting. When you notice that the stain is going away, use warm water to start lifting up the peroxide and soap so that it does not set in, and this will leave your carpet looking nice.

There are a few other items that can be used to get red stains out of carpet. They have tons of carpet and stain removal cleaners out on the market that you can keep on hand. For instance, Oxy is said to work pretty well. Another thing you might want to think about having on hand for stains such as this, is club soda. This is also said to work quite well. Sometimes, even salt is supposed to help, as it keeps it from setting in. There is another product called, Wine Away which has been tested and proven to work specifically for just this type of thing.
