How Pet Owners Can Keep Their Homes Odor Free

Pet odor is not something that is desirable in your home, even if you are the world's biggest animal lover. Our family has four dogs, accumulated by children with very sweet faces when they beg and plead, and people who come to our home are amazed at the fact that it doesn't smell like dog at all. It can be a challenge, though, to keep a home with pets smelling fresh and clean. The following are some things that pet owners can do to keep pet odor at bay and be able to enjoy a home that smells like a home, rather than a pet shop.

*Febreze

If your pets get on your furniture, the fabrics will begin to pick up pet odor and retain it. Febreze fabric refresher is a wonderful product that can be sprayed safely on most fabrics to eliminate the odors from your pets.

*Carpet Cleaning

If you have pets, such as dogs and cats, that walk around on your carpets, it is important that you keep them as clean as possible. Investing in your own carpet shampooer is going to be worth its weight in gold when it comes to keeping your home odor free. I shampoo my carpets at least once per month. Be sure that you rinse thoroughly and suck up as much of the water as you possibly can to avoid water soaking into your subflooring.
