Spring Cleaning Tips for Working Women

When you're juggling a busy work schedule and the weekend itinerary involves running errands and playing catch-up, it can be impossible to keep the house clean and organized. Setting aside about half a day just for spring cleaning can help to get your home back in order, and you can spruce up the place with some new décor and accessories.

I like to set aside a few hours dedicated to spring cleaning each season. That's all it really takes to get rid of dust that's settled over the winter months, freshen up carpets and rugs, and get rid of clutter around the home. Here are some essential spring cleaning tips for working women:

#1: Declutter the Closets
Spring is the perfect time to declutter the closets and get rid of clothes, shoes and accessories you just can't see yourself wearing in the near future. Grab a big shopping bag and fill it up with all of the items that are past season, and slightly used items that you just can't fit in to anymore. Make sure everything is clean then take the stash to the nearest homeless shelter, Salvation Army or Goodwill. Making more space in your closets can help you keep everything organized and will also make it easier to see what you may need to buy this season.

#2: Rearrange and Clean Under Furniture
Move all the furniture in each room to one side of the room or home, and clean the floors under and around where each piece was sitting. These areas can be easy to overlook during your standard clean, but you only have to do this type of "deep cleaning" once each season to enjoy the benefits.

#3: Hire a Professional Carpet Cleaner
If your carpets, rugs and upholstery need a little freshening up after the winter season, save yourself some time by hiring a professional carpet cleaner. The pros use steam cleaning equipment to get rid of dirt and grime that's stuck near the bottom layer of rugs and carpets, and you can request furniture cleaning as an add-on service.
