Useful Products for Carpet Cleaning

There are many products at home that you can find very useful when cleaning carpets. Some products may be commercially available in stores yet you may be surprised to find out that right never thought are great for removing dirt and stains.

Finding a carpet cleaner that is most suitable for every carpet cleaning task can be a challenging feat to perform because every stain is unique just as every carpet is special. One cleaner may be good at removing a particular stain on a certain type of carpet but can do no good for others. It is thus important to know the type of your carpet, the type of stain and the characteristics of your cleaning solutions or agents for a guaranteed clean carpet.

When our carpet is stained, what most of us tend to do is use carpet shampoo to wash and clean the carpet. Foam is produced when we use shampoo due to the chemical content sodium-lauryl-sulfate. Generally, if the carpet shampoo contains more of this chemical, the more foam will be produced; and when it comes to carpet cleaning, some usually thinks that best results will be achieved when there is more than adequate foam.

If you ran out of your commercial carpet shampoo, you actually don't need to rush to the nearest store to buy it. Instead, take a quick tour to your kitchen to find what you need. There are kitchen staples, usually used I cooking, which can be gathered and used alone or mixed together to concoct your own carpet cleaner/shampoo.

Vinegar and baking soda are two excellent examples. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda to the stained area then allow settling for half an hour. Alternatively, you may use 2 gallons water mixed with ¼ cup vinegar.
