Quick Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring cleaning is something we know we should do. Our grandmothers did it, our mothers did it, and we should probably attempt some fast spring cleaning as the weather gets nicer. But it can seem like such a chore! The term "spring cleaning" can conjure up images of ripping the house apart from top to bottom and scrubbing surfaces until your hands are raw, but it doesn't have to be this way! Life is too busy to spend days scouring the whole house; instead, use these quick spring cleaning tips to whip your house into shape in short bursts of 15 minutes or less. When you learn the tricks of how to clean fast, you'll be able to not only get your home ready for spring, but keep it that way all year long. Basket Blitz
Take a laundry basket or other receptacle into one room of the house. Go around the room and pick up any objects that don't belong and place them in the basket. When the basket is full or the room is free of foreign objects, spend the rest of your 15 minutes putting the objects where they belong. When the basket's empty, you're done! This is a fast spring cleaning tip that you can use weekly to keep the clutter at bay.
Freshen Up the Microwave
The microwave is one of those appliances we use all of the time, but forget how messy it gets because we can simply shut the door. However, those little food particles that tend to splatter can really build up over time and make a huge, caked-on mess. This quick spring cleaning tip will have your microwave looking brand new in no time.
Fill a microwave-safe mug two-thirds full of water and add a few splashes of lemon juice or some fresh lemon slices. Microwave it on HIGH for 4 minutes. When it's done, leave the door closed and keep it in there for another 4 minutes. The moisture from the steam and the acid from the lemon will loosen the food particles. After 8 minutes total, remove the mug and wipe down the interior with a wet paper towel. Take out the glass plate and give it a good cleaning with soap and water. To finish up, wipe off the outside of the microwave with a surface-appropriate cleaner.
