Removing Chewing Gum from Your Carpet



Chewing gum can be one of the toughest things around to get out of your carpet. Many people have even gone as far as cutting out a piece of their carpet to remove chewing gum. Here are a few solutions that may work for you when you are trying to get chewing gum out of your carpet. Chewing gum when hardened is not easy to try and pull out of carpet so you will need to soften the chewing gum by heating it up and the best way of doing this is by using a hair dryer. A hair dryer will heat the gum making it softer to remove. Don't hold the hair dryer so close to your carpet that it will damage your carpet. Just hold it close enough to soften the gum. Slowly pull the gum off your carpet and if it is easier for you use something to help you pull it off your carpet such as a cloth or something else that the gum might stick to.

If the carpet still has residue of chewing gum left on it. Repeat the process and again slowly pull the gum away from your carpet. This may take some time but with a little effort it may remove the gum out of your carpet. Once the gum is all out of your carpet mix a few drops of a mild dish detergent and some warm water and gently wipe the area with the warm water and detergent and then rinse it off and let dry. This is just one thing you can try for removing chewing gum out of your carpet. There are cleaning solutions in the store that you can try for removing gum from your carpet. These cleaning solutions are special just for cleaning things like chewing gum and other things from your carpet.
