Home Remedies for Carpet Stain Removal

For those of us who enjoy having carpet it's very nice and beautiful to have in our homes. Sometimes it can be aggravating to keep clean, especially if we have children and pets."You will be using a neutral detergent for all these carpet stain removers. A neutral detergent is one with no alkalies or bleaches. Here are some of the most common stains:

FRUIT AND JUICES: If you have small children it's always a good idea to keep this solution handy. First mix one teaspoon of neutral detergent. Mix this with a cup of lukewarm water, Blot. Repeat this again, then sponge with clean cold water, blot again.

INK: Sponge with a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent. Use a small amount then blot. Mix one teaspoon of neutral detergent, then add a cup of lukewarm water, sponge with clean cold water.

URINE: If you have pets always keep a solution of this on hand for fast action. Sponge the area first with clean water. Mix one tablespoon of household ammonia and household white vinegar. Add this to one cup of lukewarm water. Blot, then mix one teaspoon of neutral detergent with a cup of lukewarm water, then sponge with clean cold water. If the urine has already dried then you will need to mix one-third cup of ammonia and vinegar to two third cups of water. Mix two teaspoons of neutral detergent to one cup of water, blot. Then sponge with very cold water.

WINE: This solution should be mixed up before any cocktail party. Mix one teaspoon of a neutral detergent with a cup of lukewarm water. Blot, then mix one-third cup of white household vinegar with two-thirds cup of water. Blot then repeat. Sponge with clean cold water. You can also use this solution on other alcoholic beverages, such as beer and mixed drinks.

COFFEE: This one is my favorite to spill! Mix one teaspoon of neutral detergent with a cup of lukewarm water. Blot, then mix one-third cup of white household vinegar with two-thirds cup of water. Blot, then sponge with cold water.
