Reviewing the Fredericksburg, Virginia Dog Park, Located on Kenmore Avenue

The Fredericksburg area has one dog park, which is located in the downtown area on Kenmore Avenue. It is geographically set-up to accommodate the immediate area, which is the City of Fredericksburg around route 1 and Lafayette Boulevard. The park is asked to sustain a large area of dog park users, but hasn't been overcrowded in the past, which doesn't lead to a demand for more facilities throughout the county.

The park has its positive and negative points. The area is split into two independent sides, which are rotated on alternating days to prevent excessive wear and tear. Each side is the same has far as the layout is concerned. They have a large grassy area for the dogs to play with others and an abundance of toys already there at the facility. There is a water area in the far corner with a pump to refresh the large bowl as needed by the owners. The fences are in good shape with no holes present that a curious little dog could get out of the park through. There is a holding area upon entering the park, which is fenced as well, where an owner can prepare their dog(s) for the park and take off their leash(es). There are trash cans and bags present in order to clean up after the dogs, which keeps the park in good condition for future visitors.
