The Oreck Steam-It All Purpose Steam Wand is a hit and miss device that cleans using steam from the internal water tank and heating element for quick steam. The Oreck Steam-It comes with the Wand body, powerhead, two steaming attachments, a couple of spot brushes, a deflector nozzle, carpet glide base, funnel, cleaning brush, and some cleaning cloths.
The Oreck Steam-it works on the basis that steam is going to loosen and remover dirt from both hard surfaces like linoleum or tile floors and soft ones like carpet and upholstery. The Oreck Steam-it does work on hard floors as well as soft ones like carpeting but there are some things that could have been better designed.
The Oreck Steam-It has a 1 liter tank and heats the water up in about 30 seconds, you can actually plug it in and by the time you're done sweeping the floor it will be more than ready to go. The Steam-It has a few different attachments for use on different surfaces with the powerhead being your main floor cleaner for both carpet and hard floors.
Simply put the powerhead on and for hard floors place the cleaning cloth on the floor and use the clips on the side to hold the cleaning cloth. This is the first design flaw in the Steam-It, the clips don't hold the cloth well and could have been turned 90 degrees to counter the forward and back pull.
