How to Get Rid of the Smell of Smoke



When you walk into your house is smoke the first thing that you smell? The smell of smoke is never a pleasant smell and most people want their homes to smell like something better than smoke. Here are some tips on how to get rid of smoke smell...

Smoke In One Spot

To avoid your entire house turning yellow and smelling like smoke, you may want to consider smoking in a certain area. Obviously, the best area for this is outside, which will eliminate all household smoke smell in the long run. Some people find that this helps them cut back on the amount that they smoke because they don't want to go outside to smoke, especially during the winters. Otherwise, you can choose one room to smoke in or even the garage. This will limit the smell to that room.

Regularly Clean

Smoke puts residue on a lot of things, so cleaning it off will help eliminate the smell. Make sure to keep ashtrays clean, as they can deliver quite the odor as well.

Air Purifier

Air purifiers bring dirty air into it and pushes out clean and odorless air. This will eliminate the smoke filled and odor filled air.

Coffee

This is a common method of getting rid of a smell in a house. Some people like to put coffee grounds into tied up coffee filters and place them around the area with the smoke smell. Others may prefer to put some coffee grounds into the oven, at about 150 degrees, and let the smell flow throughout the house. Coffee is a great deodorizer with a very likable scent.
