Hoover U5140-900 Widepath Upright Vacuum Review

Most people don't expect much in an upright vacuum cleaner, especially with one that has a price point of just under $100. So how exactly did the Hoover U5140-900 stack up against the competition? You may be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Product Rating:

Overall: 4.5/5 Stars

Quality: 4/5 Stars

Effectiveness: 4.5/5 Stars

Value: 5/5 Stars

Main Features:

The Hoover U5140-900 upright features a 12 amp motor with a 15 inch cleaning radius, and it also uses wind tunnel allergen filtration in order to control dust, mites, ragweed, and other irritants for those who are sensitive to such things.

The bag can be easily changed and this vacuum includes five different tools including a crevice tool, a furniture nozzle, a dusting brush, and two extension rods to hit hard to reach spots.

The warranty on the Hoover widepath vacuum is one year, and the product itself weighs slightly over 22 pounds.

Pros and Cons:

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this vacuum as I did not expect much in this price point. While it is not made in the United States, it still is surprising durability and quality. Obvious benefits include the advanced filtration bags which prevent dust from kicking up, especially if you suffer from very bad allergies. This will leave your air feeling clean and fresh as opposed to stagnant.

Another advantage is that the bags are cheap, and they can be had as low as $1.00 in quantity, so you will not be shelling out mass amounts of money for the bags and a low price for vacuum.

It especially works well on carpet and does pick up large messes. If you have a hardwood floor or a tile kitchen floor, then this upright may not be for you as it tends to have difficulties with anything other than carpet.
