Eco-Friendly Stain Removal: Chocolate

Who doesn't love chocolate? It's good in the mouth, but not on your clothing, carpets and furniture. Chocolate stains can sometimes seem difficult to remove. But these all-natural eco-friendly solutions can help clean up that chocolate both effectively and safely. It doesn't take harmful chemicals to get out this tough stain. Living a natural and eco-friendly lifestyle is important to me, both for environmental and health concerns. Over the years, I have experimented with many eco-friendly methods of stain removal.

Remove Chocolate from Clothing the Green Way

For the best luck in removing the chocolate, get started on the stain right away. First, try a simple cold water rinse. Sometimes that's all it takes. If your chocolate stain is still there after rinsing the clothing through cold water, try a small dab of eco-friendly dish soap right on the stain. Again, rinse in cold water. Still not coming out? A sprinkle of baking soda could be your answer. Rub it into the clothing gently. It's abrasive and scrubs the stain without much effort.

Eco-Friendly Chocolate Stain Removal on Carpets

Uh-oh. Someone just dropped a chocolate bar, brownie mix or hot chocolate on the carpet. These and other chocolate stains can be removed naturally. First, try ice cold water. Pour the water onto the stained area and dab with a dry cloth to soak up the water and chocolate. Continue doing this until the stain is gone.
