If you are looking for a new business idea; something that isn't already tapped out within the market, here are five possible ventures that are certainly worth a glance.
1. Technology training for the retired and home bound. This is a service area need that is not currently being met. Retired people, who left the workforce prior to the computer age, as well as the disabled or otherwise home-bound have little or no computer or technical knowledge.
Many of today's elderly suffer from severe depression that results from their being cut off from society as whole. Some have family around them, but many do not. Oftentimes, even friends have abandoned them, making them feel totally alone. The same can be said for many disabled or otherwise home bound individuals who simply have no access to the outside world.
A business that would teach these individuals basic computer skills could open a whole new world for them by allowing them to connect with others. While it is unlikely that such a business would ever make anyone rich, since these individuals generally live on a fixed income and have little in the way of extra money, it could prove to be a very rewarding career.
The business could even be structured to help these individuals find and purchase the right kind of equipment for their specific needs. A clever business man or woman might be able to arrange special funding through both hardware and software vendors, which might include a finder's fee to supplement their income.
